VARIOUS KINDS OF INTERACTIONS FOR THE TEACHING OF SWIMMING

Abstract

The author emphasises the role of the teacher – student interactions re-
lated to the teaching of swimming. This study’s use of a special observing
system of swimming interaction analysis concerns the effective teaching.
The sample (n=49) consisted of PE teachers, swimming instructors and
swimming trainer with different kind of curriculum and proficiency. A total
of seventy-seven (77) lessons were videotaped and coded with the Interac-
tion Analysis System. The basic purpose is to obtain a grater understanding
of the teacher’s role, the control he/she provides while teaching, and the
interaction patterns he/she uses.
