THE EFFECTS OF PREMENSTRUAL SYMPTOMS ON FORCE AND POWER GENERATION CAPACITY AMONG ADULT ICE HOCKEY PLAYERS

The premenstrual symptoms are very usual among the womens. The effects of premenstrual symptoms on the sport performance are rarely studied area of the sport science. The aim of our study is to examine the premenstrual symptoms occurance and its effects on the performance. Furthermore to examine the differences in the ice hockey performance on the womens who have premenstrual symptoms and who has not. 12 ice hockey player were take part in the study. We were defines 4 menstrual phases: earley folliular, late follicular, mid luteal, late luteal (premenstrual) phase. The power and the maximal strength were measured during those 4 phases. There was signifficant difference between the different phases on maximum power among the group wich do not experience premenstrual symptoms. The maximum strength and power differences between the groups and within the groups showed only tendencies on the different phases of the cycle. According to our resoults we need more studies to understand the effects of the cycle’s differenent phases on the sport performance.
