About the Journal

Scope

East Central European Historical Studies (ECEHS) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal publishing interdisciplinary articles and reviews on East Central European history in Hungarian and English.

The specialist area of the responsible editors of the journal is related to the four historical eras of research on East Central Europe – ancient history, medieval and early modern history, modern history and contemporary history. The editorial board of the paper is made up of the collective of historians present at the Institute of History in Eger, as well as external experts. The editorial team of the paper justifies the magazine's thematic diversity, the issue-by-issue approach to different eras and topics, the focus of which is specifically on the East-Central European region.

The journal is published twice a year with studies in Hungarian and English under the auspices of the Institute of History of Károly Eszterházy Catholic University. The paper is "Acta Universitatis de Carolo Eszterházy Nominatae. Sectio Historiae" c. legal successor of a scientific journal.

The "Acta Universitatis de Carolo Eszterházy Nominatae" is the IV. series and continuation of "Acta Academiae Paedagogicae Agriensis" (Series I 1955-1962), "Acta Academiae Paedagogicae Agriensis. Nova series" (II. series 1963-2008) and the "Acta Academiae Agriensis. Nova series" (Series III 2009-2017) scientific publications.
