Many factors shape the quality and quantity of physical education, physical activity, leisure time spent on exercise in general, and the development of a healthy lifestyle, which is also the subject of physical education and the main goal of health education. We consider our research as a preliminary study. Our study included upper secondary students from two primary schools. The two types of schools were also previously compared in terms of pedagogical programs, the local organization of physical education classes, and their motor skills, in connection with which it was proved that the participants in multilateral training produced better results. In this research, we examined the correlations of the influential role of the parental example in terms of physical education and movement, and the development of the need for a healthy lifestyle. In our study, we examined the parents ‚commitment to sports and the past of sports using a questionnaire method and hypothesized a correlation between the students’ attitudes towards subjects and movement. Correlations were also contrasted with motor skills through the NETFIT test system and we hypothesized that there was a relationship between parental example and the attitude of physical activity. Based on our results, we can say, that parental example is an important component of the development of the need for a healthy lifestyle, but at the same time the needs and opinions of today’s young people are not only markedly separated from their parents, but also cover their independent and definite expression.
