The aim of this study is to map and systematize domestic empirical research related to the teaching of physical education. In the course of the literature review, we examined qualitatively focused, empirically based studies, with particular attention to pedagogical objectives, teaching methods, student attitudes, assessment practices, and teacher–student relationships. Through targeted searches in the Google Scholar database, 51 relevant studies were identified and analyzed in detail. These were categorized into three main groups, physical education in general, daily physical education and teaching methods. Based on content analysis, it can be concluded that most students have a positive attitude toward physical education, especially regarding the development of a healthy lifestyle, while attitudes toward the assessment system vary with age. Teachers’ methodological preparedness and attitudes, as well as infrastructural conditions, are key factors in the successful implementation of daily physical education. The findings also highlight that greater consideration of students’ opinions and needs, along with the methodological renewal of teacher training, may contribute to the further development of physical education as a school subject.
