STEREOTYPES IN SPORT, RAISON D’ETRE OF FEMALE SPORT IN TODAY’S HUNGARIAN SOCIETY

Abstract

The perception of women’s sport has both biological and sport political basic
assumptions and educational materials, latent or manifest value preferences
as well as ideological commitments and cultural habits. So how is the affair of
the sport policy or the social practice to female athletes, says a lot about the
society in which these women’s sports. Without historical, cultural and polit-
ical context the judgment of female sport narrowed down to the biological
aspects
The study aims to present the judgment of sports in Hungary. The study
focused on women’s sport, like a phenomenon, which invades into a tradi-
tional masculine area affecting more sport. We investigate mostly the mascu-
line sport, in which individual and team sports and we present it based on a
survey research with the university sport students. Every sport what we have
chosen is at the Olympic program.
