As a professional athlete and as a teacher in the future, I am interested in how the admiration of spor t influences students’ activit y and par ticipation in PE lessons at schools. At the same time, the interest in sports and the way teachers are judged originates from the students’ families. The purpose of my research is to get a better view on how the parents’ opinion about the teachers, the parents’ attitude and value system towards sports affect the pupils’ activity in PE lessons in high schools. During my research in order to get the necessary data and information I used a not random questionnaire in a high school maintained by the government. The questionnaire consisted of closed questions, was completed by high school students and their parents, ought to have been com- pleted by each person by oneself and was anonym. During the processing of the data I used descriptive statistics. In the questionnaire socio-demographic data, questions in connection with attitude, and the opinions created about teachers, and the expectations in connection with Physical Education were included. The questionnaire was completed by 53 student and 51 parent. With regard to the results: there were no grand differences, except in the case of the PE lessons importance. Parents consider PE lessons more important than students. It is clear that the parents’ opinion about the teachers can have an effect on the opinion of their children and it can affect their participation and activity in sport lessons. Many differences can be noticed between the different generations in the completed questionnaires. I believe, that the influence of the media has grown and strengthened in the life of younger generations.
